Korda have taken their inspiration from a classic design from the past. Available in the early eighties by a shop in North London, Dons of Edmonton. Their Springbow was a brown fibre glass net, featuring a very unique, heavy stainless spreader tube, but that said it was the net of the era and the only serious choice for the carp fisher of the day!
The fashion of today seems to be for very thin handles similar to an angler’s carp rods.
Korda have gone completely against this trend for a number of reasons. For performance, it is incredibly important that both the arms and pole have inherent stiffness. By having a very low diameter pole, you increase weight because you must increase wall thickness, and thin handles are simply not as good to hold in use. A higher diameter handle increases stiffness, is easier to use and more comfortable to grip. You can utilise a thinner wall section without having to compromise on strength or weight.
Korda's design has a 6’ handle that tapers down from 23 to 18mm and is manufactured from ultra-light, high performing carbon fibre in a stunning satin black finish with a beautifully turned 316 stainless steel point in the end. This has helped to create a net that is so light, that when fully assembled and in use, lays perfectly on the surface of the water without having to use any kind of net float.
One of the key design points was to make a ‘statement’ spreader block, something extremely light, very strong and unique in appearance. From concept to production, Korda updated the design a number of times, with the final version being stunning to look at. Engineered by JAG, it’s incredibly light, but more importantly so very easy to use and assemble the arms into. As you offer the arms up to the block, you’ll notice inside it has a slight oval shape to it, as Korda have machined the block so that it has what we call a “leading” edge. This makes additional space for the arm as its flexed and pushed into place. The arms exit the block at the perfect angle of 91 degrees, this along with using the stiffest arms they could make without compromising assembly give a truly lovely shape to each assembled net.
Each arm also has an oversized machined, anodised aluminium, rounded end, designed so that it won’t push through the mesh and damage it. This part holds the thick green cord between the arms, with zero stretch and a perfect curve in the arms this keeps everything as tight as possible and helps reduce drag as it’s pushed through the water.
The aluminium spreader block is machined out on both front and back faces, (you can see the arms sitting inside). This feature further reducing weight and giving its “chassis like styling”. Korda have also added a small slot on the front face that fits a 15mm isotope (NOT included) and engraved on the back with the Spring Bow logo. The final touch was to spray the block in a hard wearing, ceramic, Gun Smoke finish.
The net is deep enough for the angler that chooses to push the handle into the lakebed with the arms far enough above the water to retain and stop any carp jumping free after capture!
All nets come in a heavy-duty Korda Dark Kamo sleeve which has separate pockets for both handle and the arms.

It may take up to 24 hours to process your mail order. Collection orders are usually available within the hour subject to opening times. You will receive a 'ready to collect' email to tell you your order is prepared and waiting.
If there is an issue with the products you have ordered we will contact you using the information you have provided.
Very rarely we will be out of stock of an item that has been indicated as in stock, we may subsequently put your order on hold. You will be contacted by email to inform you of this and will be advised of an approximate delivery date for this item. If agreeable with you, we will despatch the remainder of your order to you; the out of stock item(s) will then be despatched as soon as available. You will not be charged any additional delivery costs for the extra delivery.
Where applicable, we will remove any unnecessary packing to make your delivery more compact and save any additional postage cost that might have to be applied. If you would like to ensure you receive complete packaging, please contact us or add this to the notes when completing your purchase.
Deliveries will normally arrive Monday to Friday, excluding all bank holidays. The delivery timescales are only a guide. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee any delivery times but will always try and get your order to you as fast as possible.
Please note that standard courier deliveries are usually made between 8.00am and 5.30pm. All deliveries must be signed for at the shipping address only.
Missing or incorrect items must be reported within 3 days of receipt of goods.

Mainland UK Delivery
Orders to the value of £60.00 or more will be sent post free.
If items that were sent post free are returned as unwanted, our standard charge of £7.99 will be deducted from the value of your refund for the returned goods.
If items are returned to us as undelivered despite attempts to deliver and no collection made a charge of £7.99 will be applied before your refund.
Orders are sent using either Royal Mail 1st Class or UK Mail 24 Hour Parcel Services.
Our post is usually collected by 2.30pm each day. Orders received close to or after this time will be processed the next day.
Large items that are 1.4m or more in length or over 24kg will be shipped at the cost of £19.99 per parcel.
Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Scilly
Deliveries of standard parcels up to 24kg to addresses in these areas will be charged at the cost of £19.99.
Parcels of 25kg and over or 1.4m long or 80cm or more on 2 sides will be quoted individually.
Returns
We are happy to cancel, exchange unsuitable or unwanted products, as long as they are returned to us in original condition and have not been used or altered in anyway, within seven working days of delivery. Under these circumstances the postal charges will not be refunded. If we have made an error with your order or have sent you the wrong item by mistake, we will resolve with the error as fast as possible and also refund any additional postal charges.
Any products that are returned for non-broken reasons (e.g. unwanted after cooling off period) may incur a restocking charge of up to 15%.
Faults
Most items sold by Melton Angling come with at least a 12 month manufacturer's warranty. If a product develops a fault within the warranty period, assistance will be provided by way of spares, repair or replacement depending on the type of product purchased. Wear and tear is not covered by any manufacturer's warranty.
Any item that was found faulty at the point of delivery may be returned for free repair, replacement or refund, provided you have the original receipt or alternative proof of purchase, and the faulty item is returned complete with all components and original packaging. All faults & defects must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. Please note that you will not be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund in respect of fair wear and tear.
When returning an item, please attach a note explaining details of any fault, along with your customer order number and your personal details inside the parcel. Please package your item(s) securely. All items returned by post are returned at your cost. You are advised to obtain a certificate of posting using a recorded service (available from all Post Offices at no charge) when returning items by post. If you post your item(s) back to us, we will endeavour to send you a replacement or refund your payment within 14 days, providing you have provided us with the necessary information inside the return parcel.
